Due to popular demand, we are excited to launch a three-day, non-residential course led by Matthew Rice. An opportunity to spend three days drawing, painting and learning at Ham Court.
This three day course will focus on the anatomy of flowers, Matthew will start with the basics of measuring and drawing and applying colour using watercolours. He will show the group how to really look at what you are painting and how to accurately translate your subject onto paper. You will be working with flowers grown in Matthew’s garden, both cut and from life whilst in the garden, weather permitting.
Matthew is a very encouraging and patient teacher, making this course suitable for complete beginners.
The three days will follow this itinerary:
Day 1
9:30am Arrive and coffee
10am Start learning
11:30am Break for coffee
12pm More learning
1:30pm Lunch
2:30pm More learning
3:30pm Break for tea and cake
4pm End of day - leave and go back to accommodation
Day 2
9:30am Arrive for second day and coffee
10am Start learning again
11:30am Break for coffee
12pm More learning
1:30pm Lunch
2:30pm Opportunity to shop Matthew’s books, paintings and other merchandise
3pm More Learning
4pm Day Ends and go back to accommodation
7pm Drinks with Matthew in garden
7:30pm Supper with Matthew
Day 3
9:30 Arrive for coffee
10am Drawing/Painting in the garden
11:30 Break for Coffee
12pm Drawing/Painting in the garden
1:30 Light Lunch
2:30 Studio learning and sharing
3:30 Depart
